Every Monday from 3-5pm September through December, The Haven Zoo offers a program teaching about farm life and animals. Perfect for ages 4-17, each week the focus is on an animal or group of animals. Includes activities and hands-on learning activities.
Every class will begin with a guided tour of the animals, followed by group lessons in the field. The Haven Zoo incorporates hands-on learning, lifeschooling, gameschooling and project based learning. Each month FarmSchool will focus on a different animal, diving deep into science, biology and animal care.
Students will participate in both structured learning and play. Lessons are taught to the whole group, with younger children transitioning to age-appropriate activities as the material becomes more advanced.
FarmSchooling at The Haven Zoo is designed to be enriching for children, tweens and teens alike balancing fun, discovery and deeper exploration of the natural world.
They also have volunteer opportunities.
