Holy Family Scholars was created to serve the Catholic homeschool parishioners in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Their mission is to build a supportive, faith-centered learning community for Catholic homeschooling families, where children can grow in faith, knowledge, and friendship through academic and enrichment activities.
At Holy Family Scholars, parents serve as volunteer teachers, helpers, coordinators, and substitutes as requested by the HFS Leadership Team. The program does not have a drop-off option - parents remain on-site for the duration of the co-op day. Expectations for the children's classroom experiences include planning and providing hands-on, team-oriented activities and experiments. Some parents will be asked to serve in helping instead of lead teaching roles, although all parents must be willing to teach.
