Learning to sew opens up a whole realm of possibilities for fashion and accessories, as well as creating toys and upcycling existing garments. Sewing is fun and can help you find your own unique style, and can help you make a statement about your creativity. Sewing can also help you preserve your clothes or reimagine them, thus keeping your clothes longer and creating less waste. This class is for homeschoolers age 13 to 17 who would like to learn to sew using a sewing machine. In this class, we will explore the parts of the sewing machine and how to operate it and create simple projects on the machine, starting with a tote bag.
