The Aurora History Museum offers engaging, affordable learning experiences for homeschool families. Right now, families can explore our Prehistoric Aurora exhibit featuring Colorado fossils, a hands-on dig pit, and interviews with paleontologists (on view through April), then return in May for a new exhibit on Filipino history and culture. Kids also love exploring the historic trolley car and interactive displays throughout the museum. Admission is just $1 for children ages 3-17, $5 for adults, and free for children under 3. We also offer private field trips with guided tours and hands-on activities, and can tailor visits to match your homeschool curriculum.
In addition to general admission, we host monthly Homeschool Days for students ages 5-12, Mornings at the Museum every Wednesday for ages 3-6, week-long summer camps, and free Coal Creek Schooldays at our one-room schoolhouse in the summer. Homeschool Days feature themes like Black History, Women's History, Archaeology, and more, all led by experienced educators.
