SPARK Team Learning Co-op is a learning community in which the parents act as guides, and activities are student-led as much as possible. There is no monthly fee for parents who are directly involved. The Little Sparks class (ages 3-6) is structured similarly to Montessori, in that there are short whole-group lessons and center activities that the students choose from for each subject (cultural studies, STEM, language arts, morals/good qualities). The Sparks class (ages 7-10) involves project-based learning. Students work as a team to solve the real-world challenge of the week, which could be anything from water scarcity in Kenya to a satellite launch in India. All subjects relate back to the challenge of the day, including cultural studies, STEM, writing, and morals. This co-op is open to families of all faiths and includes a student prayer from any faith at the beginning and end of the day. Students can be registered for one or two days a week.
