The Number Lab's unique mathematics curriculum for elementary and middle grade level students is called the Unified Theory of Mathematics. This curriculum sets a trajectory that is premised on developing real and deep understandings of mathematical concepts by placing emphasis on key mathematical ideas - also called big ideas - that underlie and integrate concepts. Through an emphasis on big ideas, students also learn to reason with number: they acquire critical evaluative skills that allow them to devise efficient computation strategies, strengthen their mental math capacity, and formulate conjectures through focused discussions and other rich mathematical tasks.
