Teaching the Dyslexic Mind at Jersey Shore Learning Center

The purpose of our mission at JSLC is not only to teach our homeschooling parents how the dyslexic mind learns but also to foster a love of learning in each child, so they have a foundation on which to build a fulfilling life of their own. We want to enable them to find what will make them prosper spiritually and in their livelihood by helping them become a lifelong reader. ("Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life." - Joseph Addison). We want to create strong citizens who have knowledge of the world they live in through the gift of reading. We want to show them that learning is a life-long endeavor and that knowledge and experience are stepping stones to wisdom.

Jersey Shore Learning Center offers customized, comprehensive reading and writing programs for grades K-12. We diagnose each exceptional child to understand their strengths and weaknesses and plan each lesson to accommodate their learning needs.

Our tutoring program is designed to ensure each student reaches their full potential by learning strategies that they can use throughout their academic life. Our "Multisensory Teaching" program is based on the Wilson Language System and Orton-Gillingham Methods when teaching reading.
