Let’s Play Music is a FUN foundational music theory class for your child that begins at age 4 - 6. This three-year program uses playful, age-appropriate methods to teach chord structure, ear training, sight singing, and classical music instruction. Solfege hand signs, folk songs, games, imagination and creativity are important components of each lesson. Your child will start in year one learning on tone bells and autoharp and graduate at the end of year three having composed and performed his/her own piece of music on the piano, and ready to succeed in any future musical endeavor, be it piano, singing, or any other instrument. This 3-year program is grouped into progressive 15-week semesters beginning each year in late August and January.
Sound Beginnings is a family class for ages 0-4 and a caregiver. It provides a solid music and preschool foundation using movement, instrument play, nursery rhymes, stories, ear training, singing, and solfege, focusing on different concepts each semester. Each semester specializes in 3 preschool topics and has a unique percussion instrument. Seven foundational research-based elements that stimulate growth in the areas particularly crucial to the development of the young child, including Literacy & Kindergarten Skills, Rhythm & Beat, Vocal & Pitch Development, both gross and fine motor skills, classical music experience, and parent/child bonding and emotional security are woven into each class. Taught as a series of six 15-week standalone, non-sequential semesters beginning in late August and January.
Free sample classes are being offered May 21, 23, 27 and June 18, as well as more TBD later in the summer. More information can be found on the website.
