Power Speakers Unlimited

Power Speakers Unlimited offers a public speaking and debate program for students in kindergarten through grade 12, with daytime sessions available on request for homeschool families, groups, and co-ops. The program was founded in 2016 by Taruna Ramani, a two-time TEDx speaker and TEDx speaker coach. Classes are based in Plainsboro, New Jersey, and meet in West Windsor, Monroe, and Edison. Weekly one-hour classes follow a hybrid format that alternates between in-person and virtual sessions, with up to 10 students per coach, grouped by grade level.

Classes are highly interactive and built around games, movement, creative drama, and group activities, so students learn by doing rather than by listening to lectures. Every student speaks in every session and receives individual feedback from the coach. Skills build one step at a time across storytelling, informative and persuasive speaking, and debate, covering voice, body language, organizing ideas, and managing nerves. No homework is assigned. Families are invited to student showcases every two months, and students can take part in speech and debate competitions, including an annual youth public speaking championship hosted by the program.
