Mass Audubon Oak Knoll Homeschool Programs

Mass Audubon Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary in Attleboro offers in-person homeschool classes for children ages 4.5-12. This 7-month series meets for 14 sessions beginning in September and ending in March. Each class is 3 hours long and meets in small groups, with other students of similar age, all while learning science outside in nature at the wildlife sanctuary. Classes happen mostly outdoors and have indoor access to bathrooms.

The 4.5-6-year-old and 7-8-year-old groups explore monthly themes such as: 'Changes in Nature', 'Animal Classification', and 'The Water Cycle'. The 9 - 12-year-old group explores monthly themes as well as additional conservation projects like collecting data and tagging butterflies for Monarch Watch and raising 'HeadStart' turtle hatchlings for US Fish & Wildlife Service.
