Somers Sweet and Savory is an artisan creamery and bakery opening in June 2025. Offering exceptional sweet and savory handmade baked goods, soups, and take and bake meals. Their licensed creamery will be producing premium ice cream, yogurt and cheese from scratch using locally sourced organic milk.

Somers Sweet and Savory is looking to hire an Ice Cream Dipper and a Barista / Cashier. Experience with either of these would be beneficial but it is not necessary. Candidates must be 16 years old. This position is seasonal, part-time 30 hours per week with potential to be full-time this summer. High school and college students are encouraged to apply.

There will be room to grow from a seasonal summer-time position into a full-time bakery or creamery assistant position for the right person(s). If learning to bake or make ice cream and cheese from scratch sounds interesting, please indicate this on the resume.

    DUTIES:

    - Both of these positions require attention to detail. Associate will be handling cash and credit cards and the cash register must balance at the end of the shift.
    - The Ice Cream Dipper will learn to accurately weigh ice cream cones, and make other frozen desserts.
    - Associates will need the ability to handle customers with care and attention. A polite attitude and friendly demeanor are essential.
    - Associate must have the ability to keep the bakery display cabinets, espresso area, and dipping cabinets clean and well stocked during the shift.
    - Associate will learn to grind espresso beans, make espresso, tea, and hot cocoa using a commercial espresso machine.
    - Associate must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time.
    - Become familiar with all of our products in order to assist other staff members and customers during busy periods.
    - This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, and other tasks may be assigned.
    - There will be an employee discount for food, but health care and 401K are not being offered at this time.

    SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
If applying in person, please bring your resume. If you apply via email, please attach your resume. Please indicate your availability.
