We began our enrichment programs at Providence Farmstead in 2023, creating a space where education feels alive and deeply connected to the land. All of our classes and offerings are hosted through our community group, The Firefly Guild.
At The Firefly Guild, we believe in educating the whole child.
Our programs blend nature discovery, farm life, art, hands-on building, physical activity, and creative exploration. We want to nurture lifelong learners - children who can observe carefully, think deeply, and appreciate the world around them.
Learning here doesn't happen only at a desk. It happens in the garden rows, in the pasture, under the trees, and around project tables.
We encourage children to play, experiment, collaborate, and participate in project-based activities that stretch their thinking beyond the expected. We value curiosity over worksheets and creativity over perfection.
In Firefly Guild programs, you might see children:
• Building before they're given instructions
• Planting seeds and tending living soil
• Painting what they observe in nature
• Playing tag across open fields
• Working together to solve real-world challenges
We believe children learn best when their hands are busy, their bodies are moving, and their imaginations are engaged.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to cultivate capable, confident young people who love learning - and who know how to wonder.
