Schemespace is a makerspace equipped with a sewing studio, woodshop, science lab, and well-stocked art studio serving homeschoolers, unschoolers, pandemic pods, and learners of all ages with classes in sewing, fashion design/patternmaking, woodworking, science camps, math, visual arts, and more. Fashion design students ages 10 and up show their work annually at the Schemespace Fashion Show. Classes happen all week every week.
Schemespace was created by Heidi Fuhr, a licensed teacher who left traditional schooling during the pandemic and discovered the freedom, joy, and intellectual satisfaction of homeschooling by starting a microschool. Schemespace believes that learning is a fundamental part of the human experience, and when done right, can be a means of fulfilling our intellectual, social/emotional, and even spiritual lives.
