Founded in Bethesda, Maryland in November, 2016, the Roosters Rugby Club is made up of high school aged players from Montgomery County, MD, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia. We’ve created a diverse boys team with players representing not only the United States but France, Africa, South America and other European countries.
While rugby has been played in Europe since the late 1800’s, it has just recently become the fastest growing team sport in America. Our goal is to foster the growth of a club with teammates from diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. We aim to provide our players with the necessary skills and opportunities to build a team focused on understanding and cooperation both on and off the field. As we introduce the game to new players it is our hope that when they move on from our team, they will continue to contribute to the game into adulthood.
We encourage and welcome both experienced and beginner players of all shapes, sizes, and levels of physical condition.
Join us for practice on Tuesdays, Thursdays (7:00pm) and Saturdays (12:30pm). We are currently practicing at Walter Johnson High School, 6400 Rock Spring Dr, Bethesda, MD 20814. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at roostersrugbydmv@gmail.com, and we'll get back to you.
