Lincoln Heritage Museum – Home School Days

Ongoing

TheHomeSchoolMom's local resource listings are sponsored by Time4Learning, where you can find resources, support groups, test prep info, and more.

Every second Tuesday of the month the Lincoln Heritage Museum offers discounted admission ($4) and a mini field trip experience to homeschool families. The field trip experience consists of an interactive tour through Abraham Lincoln’s life, 19th century games and educational activities including stump speech writing and scavenger hunts.

The Lincoln Heritage Museum allows visitors to appreciate the incredible life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln, particularly as it pertained to Illinois. On the first floor, see real items on display including Civil War weapons, a table Lincoln studied at, one of his favorite rocking chairs, several of his books, tools, and more! Exhibits revolve around the character of Lincoln and the character traits that he possessed like honesty, leadership, perseverance, vision, and empathy. The Museum challenges all visitors to Learn from Lincoln, and Live like Lincoln.

On the second floor, walk through 19th century-era room recreations featuring beautifully detailed graphics and immersive audio-video displays, and be drawn into a truly unique “life review experience” of Lincoln’s world. The Lincoln Heritage Museum offers a one-of-a-kind view of the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.

Groups of all sizes are welcome but please call the Lincoln Heritage Museum ahead of time if your party is larger than 10 people.
