A small homeschool honors precalculus course is forming for the 2019-2020 academic year, and interested parents are invited to contact the instructor, Dr. Jeff Steckroth, to learn more about this opportunity. The course will be taught twice-weekly in a face-to-face classroom setting meeting twice weekly, with online homework and course management support provided through Pearson My Math Lab.

The primary objective of this course is to provide students with a rigorous precalculus experience in a small-group setting. The class is designed to allow for personalized attention with the positive interactive experience of an actual class. In addition to the lively face-to-face sessions, students have the support of the Pearson My Math Lab resources–homework aids, videos, and other digital resources. Plus, Dr. Steckroth holds twice-weekly online extra help sessions in which all students may ask questions and receive help with challenging problems.

A secondary objective weaved throughout the course is to help students be well-prepared for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT. Regular exposure to actual test material and emphasis on application of good test-taking strategies is standard procedure in this precalculus course, so students will see how course content applies to college entrance examinations.
