Baltimore Shakespeare Factory

TheHomeSchoolMom's local resource listings are sponsored by Time4Learning, where you can find resources, support groups, test prep info, and more.

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory breaks down barriers to understanding and enjoying Shakespeare. The company is proud to offer student matinees during the school year. Classes, clubs, and homeschool groups welcome! Group rates available; chaperones attend free. Each performance ends in a talkback with the cast.

The Kestrel, BSF’s Elizabethan-style playhouse, boasts period architecture and a 3/4 thrust stage that allows for maximum audience interaction. BSF directors employ the staging conditions of Shakespeare’s time and each performance offers a glimpse of what it might have been like when these plays were first presented in the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods.

2020 Matinee Schedule:
(All performances begin at 10am, and last approximately 2.5 hours with one intermission.)

Henry V: February 19 & 27

King Lear in Original Shakespearean Pronunciation: April 8 & 16
