Phylo, The Trading Card Game

TheHomeSchoolMom: Phylo Nature Trading Card GamesAccording to conservationist Andrew Balmford’s research, children as young as eight have the ability to identify and characterize upwards of 120 different Pokemon characters, but when the same rubric was applied using photos of familiar flora and fauna children entering secondary school were able to name less than 50% of common wildlife types. A trading card game with gorgeous artwork and a focus on biodiversity, the phylo project aims to correct the inability of kids to identify the nature life around them. Getting started is easy – just download the instructions and the starter pack of cards and print them on cardstock. You can browse and print additional cards or even upload your own photographs/artwork to the project (great for budding artists).
