  1. The Easy Spanish Review by Gena Mayo
Pros: easy to use, not on the computer
    Cons: not interactive

    Grades Used: 4th

My daughter has been using The Easy Spanish this year for her first time studying a language. What I have liked about it is that she listens to the CD of the lesson. It is a story told in dialogue by different characters. They mix up English and Spanish, so the kids are naturally learning the translation of the Spanish by hearing the next speaker repeat it in English. The story is cute and continues in the next lesson. Then they hear the vocabulary words pronounced in Spanish and English.
The curriculum was written to help kids learn Spanish in order to use in missions. The Spanish pronunciation is more for Central or South America, rather than Mexico. But, of course, they would understand you there. There are so many different types of writing assignments to do each week that you can pick and choose. I usually have my daughter write out the vocabulary words, do a worksheet, listen to the CD lesson each day, and pronounce the vocabulary words to me at the end of the week.
