    Pros: Easily combines phonics, reading and spelling; teacher's manual well-laid out, comprehensive
    Cons: may need to supplement with additional readers
    Grades Used: PreK-1

    Little Angel Readers are a great introduction to phonics and reading. The pace is slow in the beginning, with lots of review. The teacher's manual incorporates practice with spelling rules in each lesson. Sometimes there is an accompanying craft which helps to solidify the day's lesson. The workbooks provide solid phonics, spelling and comprehension practice. Little Angel Readers have nice illustrations and stories which teach gentle lessons.
