This is a wonderful series of art appreciation books. The left page has a work by a famous artist. The top of the right page asks a series of questions. Here are some sample questions from "Animals in Art/ George Stubbs p. 14-15: "What figure seems most important to you? Why?" "Describe or make the sounds that could be heard in this scene." "The dogs are all headed in the same direction, but they are in many different positions. Why do you think the artist painted them that way?" "The gray horse has come to a sudden stop by the river. How has the artist shown us this?" At the bottom of the question page is a mini-biography of the artist, and the history of the painting. These are great resources for any homeschool library!
