Goodies: Easy Grammar Grades 3 & 4

[Update – Congratulations to Twila, who won the Easy Grammar giveaway. Twila, please contact me with your mailing address by Monday, Feb. 14.]

Looking for a curriculum your kids will like?
An online homeschool curriculum can open new doors by creating an interactive learning experience that brings concepts to life.
Text Time4Learning and rotating graphics for math, science, social studies, and language arts
Homeschooling should be fun.
With Time4Learning, it can be!

It’s time for another goodie giveaway! Today I am giving away Easy Grammar Grades 3 & 4 along with Daily Grams Grade 4 and Daily Guided Teaching and Review for 2nd and 3rd Grades. The Easy Grammar book is in great shape with no writing inside. The Daily Grams book has been filled out through page 74 in pencil; pages 75-180 are unmarked.

The Daily Guided Teaching and Review has a worn/dirty cover but the inside is unmarked. I really liked this system because once a child learns the prepositions and eliminates the prepositional phrases from a sentence, it is much easier to understand what is left. From the Easy Grammar website:

“Easy Grammar texts use the prepositional approach combined with effective strategies. This helps students to understand grammar, a tool for speaking and writing properly.”

About Daily Grams:

“Guided Review Aiding Mastery Skills texts have been designed as a 5-10 minute, daily review to be used at the beginning of every lesson. Students use concepts learned in capitalization, punctuation, and other areas on a daily basis. This process promotes mastery learning. See individual texts for ‘Content and Sequence’ and format.”

If you would like to know more about the Easy Grammar system, visit the publisher’s website. To see what other homeschoolers have to say about it, visit TheHomeSchoolMom’s curriculum reviews.

Reminders: The items in Goodies Up For Grabs may be gently used or like new. While the item itself should be in good condition (I’m not guaranteeing it because I won’t be watching every video or listening to every CD), the covers may not be in great shape. As of this writing, items are all from my personal shelves but that may change if friends offer to contribute to the stash. I may not have actually used the item. (You don’t ever do that, do you? Buy curriculum and not use it? I didn’t think so.) Some of the resources may be older versions – I have several great videos but they are on VHS tapes – so be sure to pay attention to whether the format of a resource will work for you.

The rules are simple – for each item, just post in the comments section of the blog post what you like about that particular item. Please only post once for each item. The choice will be random, so it will not increase your chances of winning to tell how your husband just left you and your house burned down and you lost your job so you really *need* the item. Keep it simple, and happy homeschooling!

  36. Heidi

I just found your site and love it. It is just the kind of support, info., and easy maneuvering I’ve been looking for in an on-line source. As for the “Easy grammar” and “Daily Grams” goodies, I’ve never even heard of them. But, the approach they take described in your blog makes a lot of sense. I know when I was learning to fully understand and compose “fancy”, long sentences, it really helped to be able to recognize the “fluff”.

I thank God for a site like yours!!

  37. Tiffany Boyd

I have used easy grammar for years. I like the way the lessons flow and ease of use.

    Tiffany Boyd

  38. heather

  41. Teressa

I am a new homeschool mom and struggle with anything English related. My son is in second grade and I have been looking for something really good to help me teach him. Thanks for giving all these wonderful books away.

  42. This is my first time at your website. I’m following you on Twitter. The post on the Daily Gram looks interesting. The sample shows a simple direct approach. While our company focuses on music curriculum, I’m interested in how they developed a 5-10 daily application – that’s great. Easy, daily application is so important to reinforce concepts. I’m looking forward to following your blogs.

  43. Kendall

I love the English Course and what is great is my son loves it as well.

  44. Peggy

I like the simplicity and hope to use them with my son 🙂

  45. Wendi

I like the short daily review.

I just found this website and looks great! I think daily review is very important and this book looks great!

  50. Another wonderful series that I never knew existed, thank you for sharing your library.
I love the examples, they seem perfect without all of the fluff of the series we are using now. Very straightforward. We would love to start using this series!

  51. Devonne

I love the way this program introduces the propositions first. If I win, it will save me making copies from my TM!

I’m curious — do you use the Daily Grams along with the Easy Grammar or are these two separate programs? We have used the Easy Grammar Plus and liked it. Seems like it kept things simple. I’d like to try this book for my younger son. Thanks!

  56. Bridget

I have been interested in trying the Daily Grams for awhile, but we just completed an adoption and not had the extra money…thanks for the opportunity to have a chance winning a copy 🙂

  57. Sara

I love Easy Grammar and could really use these. thanks.

  58. Carrie

My son has Asperger’s Syndrome, so I’m always looking for tools that will give him the most impact in the least amount of time. Language is something he struggles with, so these would be quite useful for him! 3rd and 4th grade grammar is what we are currently struggling with!

  59. I’m a bit of an oddball. I loved grammar as a student. I hope the boys will too!

  60. Susan Washabaugh

Would love a chance at these. My daughter will be 3rd grade next year and with her being the 3rd child I haven’t focused on a lot. She’s done a lot of learning on her own. I think she would be able to do these on her own or at least quickly. Thanks for the chance.

  61. Tina

We have been having trouble with grammar lately. I would love to give this a try! The promise of 15 minutes per day might just alleviate some of the battles I seem to be waging over grammar lately!

  62. Jenny Mosley

Would LOVE it!! My girls will be in 3rd grade in August, and I have no grammer books yet. Thank u for the chance! God bless!

  63. Dona

I currently use Easy Grammar grades 5 and 6 for my 6th grader. I love it! I hope to get the lower ones for my now 2nd grader. It really is an EASY way to learn grammar!

  64. Lisa

This is my first year homeschooling my 2nd grader, my husband is working in Ghana and I may have the possibility to teach English in Ghana orphanage. Would love to take these along. Thanks for the opportunity :.)

  65. Jeanna Smiley

I would love to try this with my 9 and 6 year old boys — I like the idea of short lessons that build up skills.

  66. Sheri Thompson

I like the concept of a small daily review before each lession.
I also like the preposition approach. This is my second year homeschooling and I feelmore confused than ever so experiencing different learning tools is much needed at this time and free is great! love this site – I could kiss you!

  67. I would like those Daily Grams. Love that they are short lessons. Hope I win 🙂

  68. Elizabeth Erikson

My 3rd grader is not enjoying the grammar curriculum I used for his older siblings. we would both enjoy using something different, and easy grammar is just the thing!

  74. Dani

Would love to try… 2nd graders are going to need some grammar next year!

  75. I have a 2nd/3rd ish grader who I think would enjoy a little change to the way we do grammar. Would love to see what these books could offer. Thanks for the chance.

  76. I have no idea why I like it, because I’ve never experienced using it.
That is why I hope to win it 😎

  77. Heather

That is one of the grade levels in our family and grammar is such an important subject. I would love to receive this book and use it with our family.

  78. Pam Montgomery

My daughter wants to homeschool, while not opposed to this I fear that not being in school will have an adverse effect on him emotionally as he is very introverted already, ant info would be appreciated.

Is there any magazine about home schooling

    • Sharlene

The Old Schoolhouse is a home educating publication I enjoy. After teaching my children at home for 5 years so far I’ve found they are more outgoing and confident then at the beginning of this journey . They have more opportunities to learn how to get along with others and try new things than ever before. Yes, there are challenges with choosing to home school but for me it’s well worth the investment of time and effort .I’d encourage you to look into it. Have a great day.

  79. Alison

I haven’t had a chance to use these books, but have heard many good things about them. Thank you for the opportunity. I love your newsletter.
    Have a super day.

I have heard a lot of positive comments on this curriculum but have never had the chance to actually get my hands on it to see for myself. Thanks for this opportunity!

  81. I like having condensed, easy-to-use grammer lessons my daughter can do quickly.

  82. Tiffany Schmidt
