Kansas Day 2013
January 29, 2013
Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861. Commemorate Kansas' 150th birthday. The Kansas Historical Society is planning events at the Kansas Museum of History and several state historic sites statewide. Check out the online resources for use in your home classroom. At the Kansas Museum of History, students will explore skill demonstrations, participate in hands-on activities, take guided tours, and see live performances by American Indian educator Dennis Rogers and storyteller Rosie Cutrer. Activities at the state historic sites vary, but often include hands-on activities, skill demonstrations, and performances or presentations.
