Our vision includes academic curricula taught in a child-directed and interactive manner by instructors with college degrees or the equivalent in the area of instruction. Teachers are encouraged to promote intrinsic motivation and a love of learning in the spirit of coopertation with parents and students. Because we value high-quality instruction, instructors are treated as professionals and paid appropriately. Parents are expected to volunteer in the classes, rotate organizational roles, and support their child in completing assignments. Students are expected to participate. The Sojourn Home School Group is a "life group" of Sojourn Church in Carrollton, TX. We meet regularly to provide support and encouragement for families that home educate. I have several 1000x microscopes with mechanical stages for ease of operation. During the year Biology and Life Science do many microscopic labs as well as several dissections. A Nature Awareness Learning Center for Children and Adults. The camp gives a great "hands on" experience in the great outdoors. It is located on a 35 acre tract of land about an hour drive north of Dallas Texas. Camp Tonkawa offers a great range of classes and camps for all ages. Our mission is to reconnect mankind with nature with our "hands on" teaching of ancient Native American skills of nature awareness and primitive wilderness survival.
