Delaware field trips

Air Mobility Command Museum
The only museum dedicated to airlift and air refueling history! The AMC Museum is one of the rare aviation museums that allows visitors an inside look at some of its aircraft. For visitor safety, the aircraft parked outside may be closed due to weather or tour guide availability. If aviation history is your thing, see several "First, Last or Only" aircraft from jet fighters to a WWII bomber complete with authentic nose art. Experience what it's like to fly a giant airplane—take a seat in one of our flight simulators. Junior aviators can "pilot" a mini-airplane to have their picture taken by mom and dad. It's all free from movies to guided tours.

Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village
For the child who believes milk comes from the grocery store instead of a cow, for the woman who remembers using a cornsheller on her grandmother's farm, the family who takes twentieth century technological advances and the farmer for granted, the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village offers a memorable and educational experience. By preserving the quickly fading agricultural heritage of Delaware and the Delmarva Peninsula, the Museum stands as an important legacy for future generations.

Delaware Archaeology Museum
Welcome to the Delaware Archaeology Museum, which highlights more than 11,000 years of human habitation in the state of Delaware from the original Native American residents, through the period of European colonization, to the present day. Exhibited artifacts range from arrowheads, ceramics, and other stone and bone tools, to glass and personal objects used in Delaware during the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.

DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum
DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum is an ever-changing exhibit that expands and diversifies with the acquisitions of new artifacts as they are recovered. Our collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic and contains shipwreck artifacts both regional and worldwide. Our current location houses about 10,000 artifacts at all times, while the other 80% are rotated throughout museum exhibits around the world. Our long-range goal is to expand our facilities to exhibit the entire collection at one location.

Fort Delaware Society
Most remembered as a Civil War prison camp, Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island served as a guardian of the Delaware River from the War of 1812 through World War II. The Society operates the Fort Delaware Museum, the Sutler Shop, and the W. Emerson Wilson Research Library;

Read House & Garden
Built in 1801 by the son of one of Delaware's signers of the Declaration of Independence, the Read House exhibits the height of Federal grandeur.

Hagley Museum and Library
At Hagley's new exhibit in Eleutherian Mills, visitors can browse through decorative and fine arts, furnishings, and souvenirs collected by Naval Captain S. F. Du Pont from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), and India.
