Korea's Involvement in World War II: Whose Point of View? - Based on a review of selected issues of and events in World War II, students will describe Korea’s involvement in that war. Working in groups they will identify different points of view of the same events and construct hypotheses based on evidence. (M,O)
Korea-Japan Wartime Relations: Where Do You Stand? - Students will discuss Korea’s relationship with Japan from 1910–45, and examine the issue of losses suffered during wartime and occupation. They will consider a range of opinions on the issue of compensation for human and physical losses during wartime and occupation, and reach a reasoned conclusion after considering evidence and arguments. They will explain reasons for adopting a particular point of view and defend their opinions with evidence and reason. (M, O)
