Profiles of Middle Eastern Countries - Persecution.org tracks the activities in countries where Christians are persecuted. You can learn about Christian/Muslim relations in the Middle East. (M, O)

America Responds - PBS has put together several lesson plans related to the disaster, including A World at Peace (elementary school), Tolerance in Times of Trial (middle and high school), Emergency Preparedness (middle school), and Taming Terrorism (high school). (T)

Background on Afghanistan - CNN has put together an excellent page with information on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and bin Laden. It is simply explained in a Q&A format, making it understandable for all ages. The Backgrounder is geared to students, but be sure to visit the Parents and Educators section. (Y, M, O, T)

Backgrounder for Islam - This page presents a clear explanation of Islam, including the difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Again, check the educator link for further resources. (Y, M,)

Al Jazeera - online English language version of the popular Middle Eastern TV station (O, T)

September 11, 2001 Newspaper Archive - September11Archive.com details history of the World Trade Center from construction to destruction and contains more than 15,000 full-image newspaper pages on the World Trade Center and the events surrounding September 11, 2001. (O)

Inside 9/11 - The National Geographic website for this updates series covering the 9/11/2001 attacks contains episode previews, timelines, photo galleries, previously unpublished interviews, and more. I have seen this series and it is a quality resource. Check the website for show times. (M, O, T)
